Front Range Christian School introduces a new daily schedule for the 2023/2024 academic year. This page answers some of the questions parents and students may have about the schedule change that were not addressed in the original announcement.
Yes. The late start day for elementary will also move to Wednesday.
For parents who need it, before-school care is available for elementary families free of charge from 7:45-8:15 on Wednesdays if prearranged with our Before/After Care teacher.
Elementary
Drop-off for the elementary will be from 7:45-8:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and from 8:15-8:30 on Wednesdays.
Junior and Senior High
The new drop off time is 7:40 (20 minutes before class). The doors will not open until 7:40 each day except on Wednesday, when the doors will open at 8:20 (20 minutes before homeroom). Students who are dropped off ahead of these times may wait on the patio for the doors to open.
If a student is required to attend a morning session (for example, an Honor Society meeting), then the faculty or staff member responsible will let students in the building and is responsible for supervision of those students.
Yes. There will still be adjusted schedules to accommodate snow delays, assemblies, pep rallies, half days, etc.
Students will report to an assigned room with a teacher present. The teacher will take attendance (which serves as chapel attendance). The Student Leadership Coalition (SLC) will use this time to make announcements, give an update from SLC prefects, and lead the students in the pledge.
No, They are not required.
The current schedule offers Executive Lunch on Thursdays which is a full hour. It was created to provide a regular time for clubs to meet, allow for special meetings, etc. One challenge with this approach, however, is that if a student participates in more than one club or group, they are unable to attend all meetings during Executive Lunch.
In the new schedule, lunchtime is the same for the entire week. Recognizing that we still need dedicated time for clubs and other student meetings to take place, and knowing that it would be better to offer more than just one time option, we created the morning sessions to fill this need. Students only need to come for a morning session if a group or club in which they are involved meets during that time.
Morning sessions also provide space for specialization opportunities in the areas of practical arts, fine and performing arts, and physical education programs, if students are interested. These opportunities are supported by FRCS staff and are voluntary for students.
