I love the strong sense of community amongst staff, families and children in the classroom at FRCS and feel God’s grace. The ECE program and staff make me proud to be part of such a positive place.
Five books, other than the Bible, that have impacted my faith or career.
- Jesus Listens by Sarah Young
- The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis
- Rediscovering Jesus by Matthew Kelly
- Conscious Discipline by Dr. Becky A. Bailey
- All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten by Robert Fulghum
I revel in the lifestyle of Colorado since I am a proud native. My family and I spend a lot of time in nature hiking (with our dogs), biking, skiing and gardening. Three of our favorite places besides Littleton are Aspen, Crested Butte, and Vail during all the seasons.
Outside of FRCS you might find me along with my family and friends at Chatfield State Park on the lake kayaking or walking my dogs at the dog park. I also love attending professional sporting events, plays at DCPA and summertime concerts in the parks.
Before God blessed me with three amazing boys, I taught 5th grade. At that time I was grateful for the students’ previous teachers that taught so many skills leading up to writing complete sentences. Because of all their knowledge at the age of ten years old, I could teach my students the writing process: producing and performing their own Fairy Tales on Trial plays. Then, I thought I would never be one to teach the early basic skills that began getting them to that point. Now I love teaching & watching preschool children develop skills such as how to hold a pencil to write and how to hold scissors to cut. Being among these students, little human sponges, makes me feel God’s presence and keeps me awestruck year after year!
