One of my favorite things about this school is the ability to teach students about the Bible. It seems so obvious at a Christian school, but growing up going to public school and never being taught about the Bible as a kid, I see how BIG of a privilege it is to disciple and educate students at school! I love being able to teach students about God’s truth and how radical of a person Jesus was. I get to talk about faith in every aspect of our day; what a joy that is!
Five books, other than the Bible, that have impacted my faith or career.
- Daughter of the King: Wait, Where’s My Crown?! by Kaylin Koslosky and Megan Finegan
- Breath as a Prayer by Jennifer Tucker
- Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God by Claude V. King and Henry T. Blackaby
- Finding I Am by Lysa TerKeurst
- Women of Courage by Mary Carver
Outside of FRCS, my husband and I run the college ministry at our church. We love being able to be leaders for these students and helping them navigate life as they go through college at CCU. When we are not busy with ministry, I like to take long walks, play board games, play tennis or pickleball, or just enjoy a good cup of coffee!
I love Hallmark movies! They are always a great joy for me to watch. They are so predictable and cheesy, yet I love watching them with a cup of hot chocolate. I personally love Christmas or Mystery Hallmark movies. When I watch them with my husband, he is not allowed to make comments about the dialogue, plot or characters. He has to hold a lot in 😉
