O Come, All Ye Faithful
My favorite part of the Christmas season has got to be Christmas music. I honestly can’t wait until it’s considered acceptable to start listening to the songs of Christmas each year. In the Wall household, we wait until KOSI 101.1 switches to their all-Christmas music all the time—and then it’s game on. One of my favorite songs is “O Come, All Ye Faithful”. This song focuses on what I believe Christmas time is all about. It is an invitation for the faithful to come, gather, celebrate, and “adore” the birth of Christ, who he is, and all that he has done and is doing. The invitation starts with knowing that the Savior of the world has been born and, therefore, we should be joyful and triumphant in that victory. The song then constantly invites us to come into the presence of Christ and participate in worshiping him. What an amazing picture of the Kingdom: both people and angels constantly gathering to worship the King of Glory. What a gift that we have been given.
I am so proud to be part of a school that strives to invite students to celebrate and experience Christ in this same way. My hope is that Front Range Christian School students learn to love and respect deeply their identity in Christ and share their experiences with others. It is a truly amazing invitation to behold the goodness and the glory of Christ the Lord and then share it with those around us.
During this Christmas season, I hope that your family can sit down together by the Christmas tree and blast “O Come, All Ye Faithful” by whichever artist you prefer. Then spend time discussing all the things you “adore” about Christ.
