Warm… authentic… supportive… family… These are words that FRCS staff members use to describe the unique work community we experience every day.
This beautiful community is a natural outflow of the quality of people who work here, but it doesn’t happen by chance. I would love to give you a tiny peek into some of the programs and activities that we implement at FRCS to ensure that our staff ethos continues for years to come.
We start every school year with an all-staff retreat. During this time we ALL get away from campus and start the year focused on our Savior, our mission, and building relationships with each other. It is intentional and also a bit of a sacrifice (our to-do lists seem a mile long), but it is so worth it!
Throughout the school year, we meet monthly as a staff and weekly within each campus. During these weekly meetings we pray for each other and our FRCS families, grow in our craft through professional development, and cover the important topics of school life. Laughter occurs regularly and sometimes so do tears as we walk the ups and downs of life together.
Our new staff members get extra TLC through our teacher mentor program. Each new-to-FRCS teacher is paired with a veteran FRCS teacher for their first two years on campus. This program is designed to meet the unique needs of new staff and provide them with the support needed to facilitate growth and longevity among our teachers in addition to training in Biblical integration and cementing the unique mission and vision of our school.
From book clubs to birthday parties we chose to enjoy time together and it shows in our day-to-day life together. I have been privileged to work at FRCS for over 20 years. My colleagues have been my biggest cheerleaders—the ones who continually challenge me to grow and learn—and people I am privileged to call friends.
This school year, I invite you to invest in relationships with these wonderful people. From facilities and administration all the way to classroom teachers and learning specialists you will find a heart for Christian education and a love for students that is second to none. I guarantee you will be blessed for your efforts!
