One needs only a cursory glance at the world around us to see the great need for leaders who emulate the virtues of a Christian Scholar. While this list could be pages in length, our school has selected ten that we hold as our goal: faith, courage, integrity, creativity, eloquence, humility, diligence, firmness, love, and balance. These are the virtues that we seek to grow in all our FRCS students and we believe that if we are successful, our students will in fact impact the world for Christ.
One of the ways we are seeking to grow these virtues at the elementary school is through the launch of a new leadership program for our 6th grade students. In conjunction with their usual Bible class, 6th grade students and I meet each week to dive deeper into what God says about leadership. Starting in November, the students will have the opportunity to put that knowledge into practice through the launch of the ESLC (Elementary Student Leadership Coalition).
Students wishing to participate in the ESLC will complete a written application and personal interview with me. Following the selection of the ESLC team, students and staff members will meet weekly to accomplish our mission and vision.
Our ESLC mission is to equip and empower student leaders to drive school improvement in the academic, spiritual, athletic, social and artistic realms by creating, sustaining, and embodying the values that are distinctive to the FRCS community.
Our vision is that students will become culture makers who lead in a way that impacts their school and the world for Christ.
Please join me in praying for these students. I am excited to see how God uses this program to grow our students for their good and His glory!
