Lance is a member of the FRCS Board.
This week, I had the opportunity to have breakfast with the seniors and the FRCS school board. Although I didn’t get a chance to talk to everyone, as I sat there, I reflected on what an exciting time this is for the seniors. Their journey through high school has been filled with milestones, challenges, and growth, and as they make the last push to graduate, it’s a time of both celebration and anticipation. I also thought about the journey of the students just beginning their educational path, full of possibilities and new experiences. What truly struck me, however, was not just the focus on students’ academic achievements or social experiences, but the depth of personal caring that permeates this school community from the top down.
If you have the opportunity to spend any time getting to know the teachers, administration, or school board members, you will quickly see how much they genuinely care about each and every student, parent, teacher, and administrator. This isn’t about superficial concerns; it’s about a deep, personal investment in each individual’s spiritual growth and well-being. Each member of this community is committed to nurturing not only the minds but also the hearts of those around them.
The reality is that not everything is perfect or easy for any of us. The path to achieving the best outcomes is often fraught with challenges. We all face trials in life, whether they are personal struggles, professional hurdles, or academic pressures. Yet, being part of this school community means having a robust network of support that helps us navigate these challenges together. It is through this collective effort that we can turn obstacles into opportunities for growth and connection.
The Bible states the importance of caring for one another: “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, as you are already doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). At the core of this caring environment is the love of Christ, which inspires and guides our interactions with each other. This love drives us to support each other in meaningful ways, to celebrate each other’s successes, and to offer a helping hand during difficult times.
We often find ourselves focusing on the negative aspects or the disappointments that arise, but when we step back and look at the bigger picture, we can see the incredible work that God is doing within our school community. He has brought us all together to love and care for your students and each other. The mutual support and shared commitment to personal and spiritual growth reflect the impact our community has on the development of the students to become Christian scholars and then go out to impact the world. It is truly an exciting time to witness how God is working at FRCS.
When we come together—board members, teachers, parents, and administrators—to care for one another personally and spiritually, we create an environment where our students can truly flourish.
I thank God for allowing me to be part of this great community and for bringing each and every one of you here to be part of it too. The dedication and love that each person brings to this school make it a truly special place where we can all grow and succeed together.
