We are instructed to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength (Mark 12:30). These four indicators encompass the entirety of our being, and as educators, we are trusted to help students realize and live out this commandment. While there is a lot of cross-over (how does one love God with one’s heart without also loving Him with one’s soul, and can one truly love with their strength apart from their mind?) we have classified programs within these categories to demonstrate how seriously we take our role in training children for life. We are concerned about the whole child, and therefore offer programs designed to nurture and feed all areas of their lives.
Matters of the heart often deal with our relationships with other people. The junior high programs that focus on the transformation of the heart primarily deal with our relationships with other people — whether through service, friendship, justice, or sexual purity.

Working to transform the minds of our students is central to what we do as a school. It is about teaching them how to think, not indoctrinating them with what to think. We value giving junior high students opportunities to make connections that invite critical thinking and provide insights that stretch beyond the classroom — all of it infused with a Biblical worldview.

Soul care is one of the things that makes Front Range Christian School truly unique. Unlike public schools, we acknowledge, love, and nurture the soul of each of our students. Unlike many other private schools, the care of the souls of our students is something that infuses everything at FRCS — it’s not merely slapped on as an “extra.”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and commanded to honor God with our bodies. It’s not so much about keeping fit as much as it is loving God with our bodies — glorifying and honoring him in every one of our physical activities. Providing plenty of opportunities for all junior high students to do this is a part of the way FRCS nurtures this in our students.
