One of the things that’s amazing about Front Range Christian School is the opportunity for collaboration across campus. This was demonstrated well in a recent (somewhat secret) art collaboration between elementary and senior high students.
Two months ago, second grade art students were tasked by Mrs. Schaef (Elementary Art Teacher) to create imaginary monsters on paper. They were inspired to be silly and creative, and they delivered! Monsters included Pizza Monster, Pickle Man, a distant cousin of Mike Wazowski (from the Pixar movie Monsters, Inc.), a unicorn, and a rainbow kitty, just to name a few. The project was a lot of fun for students.
Then, Mrs. Meleski (Jr/Sr High Art Teacher) tasked senior high art students to create detailed sculpture versions of those monsters. They worked for several weeks to bring these original monsters to life. They were recently fired in the kiln on campus and finished just in time for an artist assembly.
Earlier this week, second grade students were surprised with the clay creations of their drawings. It was a joy-filled reveal for both the elementary and senior high students who got to meet their art collaborator.
What a privilege it is to have one cohesive school and one creative community!
