It’s never too frigid to run or fish, even in the arctic tundra of Littleton, Colorado. You need to get out and exercise, burn some blubber (that wise crack was for me not you). Even in the winter, those fish do move a bit. Tiny little midges keep them healthy and happy, even on a cold winter’s day. They thrive…just have to outwit, outsmart and out play those fish. Just like the ones we teach each day. True story for a chuckle:
Last week one of our smart little boys brought his fly box to show off his stuff. Smart kid. Knew all the terminology of those bugs, hatches, midges. So, I showed him my fly box and told him I had a few saved just for him. He said, “WOW, Mr. Ron, are those for me?” I said, “Yep, just for you.” My little partner in fly fishing crime replied, “I’m gonna remember you forever…even when you’re dead.” Silent chuckle came over this very serious convo. “You know what, little man? I’m gonna remember you when I am still alive.”
Be a fisher of men, even in the frozen tundra of Littleton, C-Oh-2. In with the good air, out with a chuckle. ~ just Ron
